Guess what- it’s almost the end of winter quarter! (Crazy, right?!) And that means its almost time for Lambda Delta Lambda’s Spring 2013 Rush!! Well and finals week, but that’s not nearly as fun…

Rush starts on Monday, April 1st and continues through Friday, April 5th. We’ve got lots of fun stuff planned; look forward to getting important info about LDL, bonding with current LDL members and your pledge mates, and making some great memories.

Year/Major: Third Year - Human Development major, Education minor

I’m an archaeologist which means I dig up other people’s trash, but its interesting because its ancient trash. I’m a tea and a coffee person. I love being outdoors in nature but I can’t wait to live in a big city. I love LDL because its a fierce queer sisterhood- and a whole bunch of fun. LDL is just a great place to just be who you are.

Hello everyone, 

Since we have gone through our rush week activities, the next step in the process is to conduct interviews. This is your invitation to join us at Delta of Venus where we will further our knowledge about y’all! If you follow the link below, it will lead you to a Doodle page. For those of you not familiar with the site, it is set up as a scheduling tool in order to make sure we pick times that work for everyone. Just enter your name and pick the times that you are available next week. We will send out an email with final meeting times once everyone has entered their information.

Hello! Come and join the lovely sisters of Lambda Delta Lambda for our Spring Rush, 4/9-4/14 ! Come and get to know the sisters and let us get to know you as well :)

The events are as scheduled: 

4/9 Monday: INFO NIGHT @ the LGBTRC, 6-8 pm

4/10 Tuesday: $1 Scoop Night at Baskin Robbins, 7-9 pm

4/11 Wednesday: Picnic and Jam on the Quad 12-3pm

                        Bojangles 18+ up night, Meet in front of Delta Venus @ 9 pm   

                        rides will be provided as well as early and late cars for those who     

                       would like to leave early.

to celebrate the coming of Halloween the sisters of LDL will be going to Dixon’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch. Rides will be provided!

Activities: Sometimes I paint myself gold and stand very still. This is called “art.” Other activities include gallivanting, and I’m trying to get back into writing things. My girlfriend has stolen my ukelele, and I distrust my mandolin. As you can tell, my hobbies are fraught with high drama and no small level of foolishness.

Year/Major: 4th/Microbiology with a certain fanatical fascination in infectious diseases.

Activities: I knit terribly. I read. I swim. I write. I make dark jokes. I play video games. I take long walks at night. I watch people.

I’m an aspiring Optometrist with a passion for helping the uninsured and underprivileged. When I’m not struggling to make a future for myself I moonlight as a bibliophile on the side and am a great frequenter of restaurants with food challenges.

Year/Major: Senior/Biological Sciences

I’m a reluctant science major who wishes she had the time to be a bookworm. Imma graduate soon, and plan to travel to far-off places and do science things, like PhD-getting after or during those adventures. I’m my cat’s biggest fan, and know how to make dank marinara sauce. An ex-barista from San Diego, I have a deep love of greasy mexican food, as well as good espresso. An appreciation for serial television shows like Lost are my deepest flaw. When I transferred to UC Davis, I saw the word “progressive/alternative” on a poster, and, despite my misgivings about the word “sorority” that was also involved in this advertisement, I rushed LDL. In doing so, I discovered a diverse, awesome sisterhood that is anything but the stereotypical sorority. Best. Decision. Ever.

I am a recent college grad still figuring out what to do with my life. I like to eat. I eat all the time. Besides eating, LDL is one of my favorite things in the world. Without my LDL family, I don’t know where I would be today.

My favorite color is purple! I have a separate stomach for ice cream in general, but I especially love to munch on coffee or mint chip ice cream and rainbow sherbert!

Hobbies/activities: video games, star trek/star wars/firefly/doctor who/sci-fi in general, collecting Marvel comics and all geek stuff (I love my new R2-D2 pepper mill now), also camping, cooking, baking, most sports, pride parades, etc.

Bio: I joined LDL in 2007 looking for the LGBT community that I couldn’t seem to find in Davis! I came from Los Angeles, so I was used to a pretty large, and obvious, community but once I found LDL I realized it was there in Davis too! It was such an amazing year because of the people of all genders, orientations and creeds I was able to connect with that first year. Each class was an awesome addition to our crazy cool community in LDL. I have a dope family now: my Big Sister is Jaws of the Nu class, my Little Sisters are Kris Ide of Rho class and Des Copeland of Upsilon class, and when I joined our mama LDL was Frankie (and still is)!!!
I went abroad to Italy for spring quarter 2009, the end of my sophmore year, and when I finally came back to Davis the following September for fall quarter, I transitioned over as President/Co-President with Hannah Yiu for my Junior year. At the end of the year I transferred the Presidency to Lyzzzzzzz Foster, the coolest of cool, who did an AMAZING job as Prez. 
I graduated in Fall 2010, and moved home to LA to move in with my soul mate. I have been working for an online advertising company full time since January and am loving life in LA. BUT I miss all my sisters in Davis every day!

I was in one of the first classes of LDL as it came to UC Davis, back in the last century.  LDL was a great part of my time at UC Davis.

Once upon a time there were two ex-LDL-presidents that were bored and decided that LDL needed an awesome tumblr. Thus, FuckYeahLDL was born. So far it is a tiny, tiny fetus, but we hope that with the love and care of our lovely members, FuckYeahLDL will grow into a beautiful, brilliant baby.
