First and foremost, Lambda Delta Lambda is a progressive sorority. Our chapter, the Gamma Chapter, is located in Davis, California, through the University of California at Davis. Although we are identified as a sorority, don’t let the gendered Greek-speak get you down— we welcome people of all gender identifications, whether they be cisgendered, transgendered, or genderqueer.
Predominantly, LDL is a social organization. However, we do recognize that as LGBTQIA-affiliated people, the social and therefore “personal” often becomes “political.” As such, we participate in a number of campus and community events and workshops that explore and educate us on what is going on in our communities. So it’s generally expected to find us one day at a rally for marriage equality, and the next night at the roller derby, or going dancing in Sacramento or the Bay Area.
At Davis, we rush during the Fall and Spring quarters, so if you are interested in joining our organization, please check back at the events page during the first week of Spring Quarter (the week of March 24th) in order to find out what we’ll be up to!
This is just a general peek into our organization, but if you have any specific questions or concerns, please let us know through the ask page :)
